  1. As I understand it. Banks borrow money (currency) from the central bank at OCR to balance flows of currency between banks. So if the debt based economy is changed, we could be better off.

  2. The debt based economy is an issue. Banks don't have assets to back loans (currency) like before in the form of gold. There are also no assets to loan ratios now to limit lending. So the money supply increases.
