In 1984 Labour took over from National with with difficult economic situation. National took over from Labour in 2009 with national debt of 10 billion but left office with 60 billion plus GST was changed to 15%. The Labour governments since 1984 have increased Statehouse stock . National has reduced the stock at times or held the number as constant although the population increased. The National Party and its partners reduced the number of state houses fall by 12,000 diring the periods 1993 to 2017. Where as Labour increased the number by 17,000. Why does he and the government think local authorities are not capable of deciding for themselves ? At the election, he personally said local authorities are the best at running three waters. Local decisions and local choices. How a government changes it talk so quickly?

Before deregulation of the banking system, the money supply was smaller, and people could not borrow for houses from trading banks. The effect changed house prices as people could borrow more to meet the price asked.

7
@firefox5926 If the government's fiscal position was not so negative and World Economics not was not good at the time, Roger Douglas's ( Thatcher ) thinking would not have become fact. He sold productive assets ( taxpayers /citizens assets), which meant we lost the income streams to pay or contribute to interest on debt. Furthermore we reduced governments ability to influence the market.
6
The MP for Botany. Recall National reduced the number of state houses by 12,000. Labour added 17,000 since 1993. So National may not telling all.
6
The ministers this term often never really answer the question. This speaker allows this compared to speakers from 2009-2017 and even till 2023.
5
The polices of this government are currently not improving the economic situation. There are no indications that downward on rents is reducing rent or stopping increases. Houses! There are 33,000 for sale ! The government could buy them with 2.9 billion it gave up as an increase in deduction .
5
The PM failed to recall numbers this morning in regard to the estimated demand on the social welfare department once changes for unemployed kick in. He stated that a large number of staff members needed some 2,000, but he meant to say 2,000 more contacts would be made by the unemployed. How good is this guy?

Property values! West Tamaki Rd. AUCKLAND. Most of these properties are valued at $2 million. So purchase price for overseas people is too low.

Economist will tell that assets used in production income depreciate in value. Land is different in nature.
5
Motor registration fee is not about funding roads. It about keeping a record of vehicles and WOF.
5
We see that the National Party is going back to 1990s National policies on benefits is part.
4
Why did the PM organise the order paper in Parliament to mean the Treaty Principal Bill was introduced when he was not usually in Wellington and Parliament. Why?
4
ACT is calling the commissioner of inland revenue "Silly".

At least she has a background in money management rather than the current finance ministers.

4
Employers have said many unemployed don't have skills and Employers will not train them.
4
Why not tell the under 25s who are not employed to pick fruit ? Let them have 1/2 the benefit plus the wage as an insentive.
4
Why is Act slient on tax evasion?
4
The MP for Botany does not talk about tax evasion. Why?
4
A NZ economist stated that in the 1960s 20% of our population was involved in manufacturing but now it was 7%. What changed since 1970? Gold standard gone, neoliberal economics became the norm, less unionization, deregulated banking, fiscal and monetary policy split, and the debt based economy .
4
NZ is not in recession and was never in recessions. Over the last six years primary producerr exports have grown by 45%.
4
I just read that the Chinese property investors are offloading overseas properties. It is likely that other countries have similar economic issues. Will this affect National's tax take.
3

3
Why is NZ First going along with this law changes...Overseas Investment (Build-to-rent and Similar Rental Developments) Amendment Bill The Overseas Investment (Build-to-rent and Similar Rental Developments) Amendment Bill is scheduled for its second reading. This bill proposes to amend the Overseas Investment Act 2005. The bill aims to remove barriers to overseas investment in “build-to-rent” housing. The bill intends to achieve this by creating the new “large rental development test” that allows overseas investors to: acquire an interest in residential land that includes 1 or more buildings with 20 or more dwellings, and in which at least 20 of the dwellings will be made available for lease to

You can see the same ideas from 1991 to 2000 period. National reborn. " Getting our country on track" going back. It seems they reduce employee protection.
3

Cost of living caused by private businesses ( owners of resources) increased prices locally and overseas. Money supply increased due to banks increasing lending to borrowers.
3
Why does plan not include unit in cabinet? ACT speaking against the media law P Goldsmith will progress in parliament as government law. Also media speak to ACT about treaty principles draft bill rather the the minister responsible for bill P Goldsmith ( opps it to hot so ACT took over).
3
Import replacement..Contrast Singapore, where only 6% of fresh produce is locally grown. This has prompted the government to develop the “30 x 30” goal to supply 30% of nutritional needs by 2030, with vertical farming a key part of the strategy. Similarly the United Arab Emirates imports over 90% of its food, and is looking towards a future that includes vertical farming. The UK and much of northern Europe, where the outdoor growing season is short and land is limited, can also benefit from these technologies (and indeed, do already).
3
Yes they are cutting back supporting insulation things. I think had be refunded beyond 30 June 2024 though. Solar power support is going. 2017 ( 16,000 units ) to 2024 ( 56,000 units) . An additional units installed during the last 6 years.
