Thank for sharing. My mum was born in 1917 and Dad in 1922 both in England. They came to NZ in 1950 with suit case. Working class background. They lived in flat in NZ with two pots, two plates etc. Simple life by 1970 , 16 years they managed to own house (mortgage free) . Two kids. Now days this not possible for most in New Zealand.

Many businesses in the world have unlimited sick leave. But it is to way trust situation. I worked for a place for 30 years. We got 9 sick days a year and could accumulate up to 70 days. During those 30 years, I took most days off to look after my child when I got flu or similar bugs. I am healthy. By the end of 30 years, I had an unused balance of 20 days, I think. Others had greater needs than me. But if you average it out, it is about the same as the individual entitlement.

You have good ideas. People are not all equal in terms of economics. There are haves and have not. I am surprised that countries where people vote their centre right often becomes the government.

In New Zealand in 1970 it cost 3x a person's salary to buy an average house but now in 2023 it cost 6x a person's salary. So home ownership has gone down. Neoliberal economics has failed. Thomas Piketty’s book helps point this out.

I am from New Zealand. I see that the federal and state government structure creates issues. You see it in the States, Australia, and Canada .

Given this situation for sick leave, parental leave, domestic leave, annual holiday leave. Should the USA adopt some of the ideas from Europe, New Zealand, and Australia .
