  4.  @vickilynn5717  it should be stated tho, that the only people offended, were the people protesting the school boards decision. So, the people upset at the school board shouldn’t get to dictate what is and isn’t based solely on their own outrage. That’s not right. All the school board did was change the name of Columbus Day. I can’t think of anything less worth the outrage.

  6.  @vickilynn5717  yeah. I’m aware of it. And changing the holiday’s name doesn’t erase history. That’s an absurd argument. It didn’t work regarding the traitorous confederacy statues and it doesn’t work here either. It’s fake outrage. Nothing more. That’s my beef. If people desire to learn about history, they can still do so regardless of a holiday or a statue. Those items aren’t the sole memorial or record of a historical event anyways.

  14.  @vickilynn5717  good question. And a fair question. One I can’t really answer. The story goes like this: the school board changed Columbus Day to indigenous peoples day. People complained so the school board removed all holiday NAMES, simply because they couldn’t please everyone. I don’t see what the issue is there, still. The school board can’t please anyone, so their only choice is to do nothing.
