@Volcano-Man Hindsight is a great thing. At each election the voters lend their supposed power to those elected. Who as soon as they get a whiff of power, conveniently forget the promises they made.

@Volcano-Man Hindsight is a great thing. However both major parties are now nothing more than either cheek on the same boil-ridden arse. The Tories had run their course by 1997. It looks like history repeating. Although, this time the alternative looks worse. It's hardly surprising that more and more people are thoroughly disillusioned with politics as they currently are.

@markd1516 You're still wrong, so why keep doubling down? The Brazilians speak a localised form of Portuguese, where nearly all the grammar and vocabulary is the same as in Portugal. European and Brazilian Portuguese are mutually intelligible, and those who speak one language can understand the other. This is the same with the Spanish used in Central and South America. Also of course, as is the English spoken in the Anglosphere, or anywhere else where English is used.

@stuartsviews1565 The Act of Union combined the parliaments of England and Scotland into one based, as made sense in London. Whatever happened to that? Scotland has always retained its own legal and education systems, which are the cornerstone of any country.
