Isn't it tough following an imaginary being?

Why follow any god at all? Nobody has ever been able to prove such a thing exists.

@In the 1970s, astronomer Vera Rubin confirmed the existence of dark matter by studying how individual galaxies rotated. While normal matter is everywhere in our daily lives, it composes less than 5% of the total universe.
2
Why did your Grandmother believe in god, Ann? It's not as though there's any evidence for such a thing.
2
@spinstercatlady "Faith". That's just belief in things which don't exist. If they did exist, then there would be no need for faith. There are many things beyond our present knowledge, but there's no reason to believe a "god" is one of them.
1
@spinstercatlady Unicorns "could" exist. Do you want to bet that they do? Also, spirits don't exist. Unless you can prove otherwise?
1
@spinstercatlady You disagree and go round in circle if you like, but I'm still right. Of course you're welcome to believe in what I would assume to be some kind of "heaven". However, just remember that two billion Hindus and Buddhists don't. Are they all wrong, and yet you are right? It's OK to hypothesize, as to what happens after we stop being alive. Although, until you have evidence as to the nature of what that may be. Then the logic conclusion would be nothing. You simply cease to exist. The same way you didn't in the several billion years before you were born.

Why should anybody care about what some old book says. They didn't even medicine to treat people then, let alone animals.

There's thousands of church denominations. So which is the correct one. Or why not go for Hinduism instead?
1
@flatplatypus "Fact" Are you sure about that? If he was so important, then why did nobody bother writing about him when he was supposedly alive?
1
@delta5297 "that wouldn't solve any of our problems". No, but it'd drastically remove all the suffering caused by god-bothering. Religion has been responsible for more strife since it was invented, than any other human activity. Imagine a World where all decisions were based solely on reason, logic and facts? Not some old book written by ignorant men (women were kept illiterate), who didn't know any better. All we can do is hope that one day soon, all humans will see sense, and stop wasting their time believing in imaginary beings.

@gospeljoy5713 Jail time?

If you use reason, logic and facts to determine truth. Then what the point in bothering with imaginary beings at all?
1
@ Was anybody saying what?
1
@anndevries8267 Faith is the belief in things which don't exist. If they did, then there would be no need for faith.
1
@anndevries8267 Well, you wouldn't, would you, Anne. Obviously you're interested in what's true or not.
