@Kanciapaa "You cant compare a street rat to a domesticated, clean, healthy socialized pet rat just like you cant compare a feral dog to a socialized domesticated one." You don't much about Biology, do you? A "feral" dog, is the same species, as a "pet"dog. It is just an escapee from a domestic setting. It is also, a different species from its original, ancestor. Dogs started on the process of domestication 15,000 years ago. From a population of now-extinct Late Pleistocene wolves. The "pet" rat is not a separate domesticated species, but rather just a breed of the Common Brown Sewer Rat, Rattus norvegicus. As such, the "pet" rat is capable of being a reservoir for the carriage and transmission of life-threatening diseases. The same as its "feral" brothers and sisters. Similar to other rodents, brown rats may carry a number of pathogens, including Weil's disease, rat bite fever, cryptosporidiosis, viral hemorrhagic fever, Q fever and hantavirus pulmonary syndrome.
"Why do you think emotional support animals exist?" So why not choose an animal that is actually a domesticated species, specifically breed by humans over thousands of years. Such as a dog or cat? Rather than a wild species, which just happens to be forced to live in a cage in captivity?
"Also if someone is comforting somebody else and it helps them, why do you attack that?" Yeah, I suppose facts are not as important as feelings!
