  24. If steel strips were effective, they would have used this in both World Wars. However, it wasn't effective against rifle ammunition. So they didn't. You need modern materials to make effective body armour.

  25.  @StreuB1  Hardened steels have been around since around 400 BC. If they were effective against in particular rifle bullets. Why weren't they used by all combatants in both World Wars? However, I do remember reading about the Soviets using a bib made of plate armour, in specifically urban environments like Stalingrad. US bomber crews also used an early type of flak jacket.

What does that say about YOU? If you think I get my news from the mainstream media, you are sadly mistaken. I can find my own sources of information and make up my own mind as to what might be propaganda and what is not. Although, they do say that the truth is the first casualty of war. There was no need for this war to have been started at all.
