  6.  @Liethen  Nope. It's mathematics, not mathematic. So therefore, the abbreviation is maths. It's often about what sounds better to the ear. Grammar is to do with sentence construction. You're never going to make a language such as English perfect. However, the worst offenders are the Americans. They have an obsession with changing the spelling of perfectly good word, but seem to leave complicated words alone. Talk about a pointless waste of time.
