@louk6196 Are you saying the Polynesians including Maori were consumers of human flesh? It's a source of nutrition, but it takes years, before you get a decent amount of meat. Not of much use, if you're on a small island, in the middle of a vast ocean. Surely, they had to find other sources of protein to survive?

She just happened to have a cancer, which lead to an immortal cell line. Horizon did a documentary about it. There's also a book about HELA. However, didn't her family try and get some money, out of those who used the much later generation of he original cells taken from her? Maybe they should have left the tumour in her, but that would have deprived the World of this cell line.

@louk6196 Who. The Polynesians? There wouldn't have been much to eat on those deserted islands. Unless they managed the animals which were there. However there was plenty of seafood, and they probably took things like chickens and pigs with them.

@louk6196 Actually, that's an important fact. The Maori's are now getting loads of free stuff, as they were seen to be colonized, and "oppressed" by the British. However, they themselves colonized the previous people, through bloody conquest. Probably, by killing the adult Moriori males, and taking the women as wives/sex slayves. Like African slayvery, these are truths which they don't like being exposed.

Bob Wilkins Bob. You're the architype of all that's wrong with Western civilisation today, and why it's collapsing. Whether you like it or not, it's survival of the fittest out there, and that's always been the case, before humans were ever on this planet. If you show weakness, someone will take advantage of it. They'll take your stuff, and not even thank you for it. All indigenous Westerners need to do, is show some backbone, and stand up for themselves and continued existence. Otherwise, you and your culture, is going to be extinct sooner or later.

They were no different in their behaviour than any other people around the World. Of course, revisionist historians, will say that Capt. Cook was waysist in his observations.
