  12.  @lesigh1749  In the US, they call anyone who teaches at a college, as they often call universities, a "professor". It doesn't matter if they have higher degrees, or not. In the UK, the term is only used for someone, who's been doing post-doctoral research, and lecturing for at least a couple of decades. You have to have published extensively in your field, as well, and probably written a few books on your subject. There is no way this bloke is a real professor, let alone at one of the UK's and World's, supposedly best university. This is a joke, if ever there was one.

Whether they're highly experience or not. In the rest of the developed world, with real universities.   58.  @brucejackson4219  I've done it and got the T-shirt to prove it. From my experience of English universities. Those who taught students were just commonly known as lecturers. These staff usually has a PhD. They were called doctor, due to them being engaged in post-doctoral research, alongside their teaching. Each department in a faculty, would have a couple of professors. These had several decades of experience behind them, and were usually the most senior, and towards the later stages of their academic career.

They're training to become licensed professionals in jobs, where they will always be demand.
