@PeterPete Why should a person have to leave their own country?
33
@SunofYork At least Toxteth was once full of working-class English people.
12
Good on that young lady for being so steadfast. She undoubtedly took a risk there.
11
@thekenneth8232 Well spotted there! Certainly Romanian.
10
@PeterPete Is there anywhere to go, where they aren't insane?
10
@SunofYork Maybe in the last few decades, when jobs became fewer. Before the days of benefits, when you had to work, or you starved. A lot would have worked on the docks, in the days when Liverpool was a very busy port.
5
@letsdiscussitoversometea8479 Rather than you using other flowers in your analogy. You should have chosen an invasive species, like Knotweed!
5
@seanmoran2743 Up until the mid- twentieth century. Labour Governments were indeed very patriotic. An example, would be Britain's decision to build it's own atomic bomb. After the US reneged on it's promise to share its nuclear technology, with the UK after WWII.
4
@StooFras-TheFiresofHell. Obvious to anyone with half a brain, but true!
3
To have to leave the home of your ancestors, and all the amazing things they built? And for all that to be at an end. How heart breaking.
3
Watch "Sanity for Sweden" He keeps it real.
3
Isn't Norway too cold in winter for economic migrants? Although, Sweden's doing a roaring trade in replacing themselves.
3
"Conservative" in name only.

Britain was the first country to industrialise. Which meant that many people worked regular hours, unaffected by the seasons. As they had when most people worked on the land. This gave them most of the weekend free, and playing sports and games were an natural result of this. Plus, the British ability to organise and codify things efficiently.
2
@songsmith31a The East End had a long history of immigration from the rest of Europe. However, it would have been difficult to pick out those, who had English ancestors, from those that didn't.
2
It depends which part of Lancashire you're in. Some of the towns are losing their identity, and it's not going to get any better.
2
@ike25young "Life in the Highlands was transformed by the clearances". Were juwes responsible for that too?
2
A no entry sign would be of more use.
2
A minority of English people, or just the minorities in general?
2
@SunofYork TV licence. What's that?
2
If things were bad in 1964, imagine what it's like now. The Kinks were based even then.
2
@WilliamJohnwon1522 A brother and sisterhood of nations. (Maybe, including the rest of the Anglosphere, should one be so inclined).
2
@susanhenshaw1271 People did. Sadly, just not enough of them.
2
@ant7936 No. Just crying.
1
@LukeMM95 It was probably best if the rest of Europe had never existed as mass of land with people on. Far too much hassle.
1
@SunofYork "1700" What?
1
@leswallace2426 Obviously, there was and are different grades of "sh1thole" around the World. You just happened to grow up in one of the better ones.
1
@SunofYork Always. That's why there are almost 1,400 food banks in the UK, and the amount is growing. They offer food staples, and not food people can live without. If some people weren't short of basic food, and needed their help to eat. Then there would be no need for them, would they?
1
@papaspipe6167 "beautiful places the British empire invaded and destroyed". Name some?
1
@SunofYork Most of the native Britons have Scandinavian ancestors anyway. So it would be the same as welcoming family.
1
@denisburgess2966 "Food banks have only been in existence within the last 10 years." Oh, so that's a positive sign is it?
1
@SunofYork Yes. Family are people who are related through ancestry.
1
@leswallace2426 Nobody's denying that they do have their uses. However, how many corner shops or kebab sellers do you need?
1
Not so great, if it's the one your ancestors built though.
1
@briansutton7603 Even god couldn't!
1
@garrywynne1218 The very wellspring that created and watered that Empire, is now polluted, stagnant, and will soon have dried up, to exist no more.
1
@susanpritchard6164 And what changed when Eastern Europeans came in their millions, after their countries joined the EU? The answer was nothing.
1
@obid7755 Tell him or her why the reasons why you left, and hope they'll be sympathetic. Also try and choose a place with a similar culture. Luckily, the British were good at creating analogues of their country, in other parts of the World. Also, do your best to integrate in every way possible.
1
@ivorbiggun7048 No. It's a job in I T, innit!
1
Nothing wrong with being proud, if you have something to be proud of.
1
@frosksdeadteeth5163 Really? However, as they're all headed North. They're be plenty of space.
1
@elmerfudd6305 Don't forget to bite that pillow, and apply lube first.
1
Prayers don't work.
1
They're travelling half way round the World for the free sh1t on offer. Once they've sucked dry the native populace, who knows?
1
"our benefit"? Yeah, right!
1
"it’s a Real Shame you know about the uk." Probably, the understatement of all time!
1
It's a shame when you have to change the way you behave, when it is seen as weakness.
1
@Then.72 "she has plans for Cheap Labour." And what is the point of importing workers, who probably can't speak or read and write English, and have no skills? Isn't that more of a hinderance than a help to the UK economy?
1
@Then.72 Does the UK still have shipyards, except the ones that build naval vessels? Or do you mean commercial companies using foreign labour to operate their ships?
1
The Japanese will find a way to mitigate their falling population. They won't allow their native culture to be lost, just to keep up the numbers.
1
She had her legs chopped from under her.
1
@paulschnyder938 No joking.
1
Whoa there. Firstly, why all the caps? The presence or absence of ravens in the Tower of London, are the least of England's problems!
1
@endpc5166 Embrace the "r" word, when it's levelled your way. "Words can't hurt me, and all that". It obviously means you're doing something right.
1
@klausuhlig7141 Maybe you should blame the previous generations of British. Who created countries from nothing. That people want to migrate to so much!
1
@markb3915 "Maybe if more British people educated themselves". Are you saying that they don't? The days of leaving school at sixteen, with no qualifications, and walking into a job, are long gone.
1
@philipcamp1370 Yes. Exporting the Nene was a mistake. Wilson was known to be sympathetic to the USSR. Although, to what level is debatable.
1
@johnmacaroni105 England is on life-support, and the prognosis isn't looking good.
1
It would appear that B liar was either blind, or not looking.
