  2.  @BunFight  They might have been achievers, but it wouldn't have much of a step-up to improve on the countries they got out of. However, this doesn't mean that the second-generation are going to be as intelligent as their parents. In fact, the data shows that they aren't. Also marrying your first cousin, is a sure fire way to ensure it. The reason people left the UK, was for many reasons, such as weather, experiencing different cultures, or going to another part of the Anglosphere. Not because of dictatorship, political instability, corruption, or destitution.

Of course, this should extend to all soft, humanity pseudo-qualifications. Studying a subject, about studying a subject, ain't like actually doing it. As you have to do in a STEM subject. Maybe, that's why Ricky Gervais, ditched Biology for Philosophy, with its grand total of three hours lectures a week. At least, it allowed him to pursue his short-lived pop career.

Who otherwise, would have been more of a scouse nuisance, than he was. being remembered for p!ssing in the lift at art college, and also nearly beating someone to death, isn't the best thing to have on your CV. But hey, John, "All You need Is Love ." right? Especially, once you're rolling in it. At least the other three were reasonably house-trained.

Ringo was lucky to get the gig, but he was already well-known around Liverpool. Much in success is about luck. As you know The Beatles were rejected by Decca, who said guitar bands were on their way out. Maybe, it worked out better for your mate being a gardener. Mathematicians and physicists tend to do their best work before they're thirty. Then it's all downhill from there.
