  2.  @MADBlacklord  The Scottish Borders have a close affinity with England. If Scottish independence did occur, then maybe these southern Scottish counties could hold a similar referendum to become part of England? Any political entity, no matter how small, has an innate right to determine its own future. That's why micro-state's much smaller than any UK counties, exist and are recognised internationally.

If you want to pay for the privilege of watching the propaganda pumped out by the legacy media every day. Then that's up to you. However, just to repeat. You DO NOT need a TV licence, if you DO NOT watch live terrestrial TV, or a catch up service, such as iPlayer. YT is full of videos explaining the rules. Maybe you should watch some? Search on YT for "do I need a tv licence".

  6.  @SuperLittleTyke  Old news? Many TV stations from around the world have live streaming news channels on YT or the internet. Even the BBC has regular updates on YT of the major breaking stories on their YT BBC news channel. The tag on their YT channel is "The latest international news from the BBC World newsroom.". Why are you so protective of the BBC? Do you work for them or something? The current funding model is outdated and needs reform. Most countries fund their TV through advertising. Even the BBC generate £3 billion a year, selling their programmes abroad, using their privately owned arm, BBC Studios. If you DO NOT watch live terrestrial TV, you do not need to pay for it. If you didn't shop at a certain supermarket, would you expect a bill from them every month? Of course you wouldn't. You only pay at the place you use. Also, TV licencing is a private company whose employees work on a commission basis. So it's in their interest to try and extort as much as they can. Often they bully people into thinking they need a licence, when they don't. The BBC even removed the exemption for those over the age of 75. This is because they know that watching TV, is the only comfort these people have. So they are an easy target for revenue. If you want to pay for the protectors of Jimmy Savile and his pals, then that's up to you.

  15. It's probably better if Scotland became independent, and stopped leeching off the rest of the UK. That was the original reason it joined the Union in the first place. The country was broke. Just like it would be again un der SNP. Especially, if there are no similar handouts from the EU.

  33.  @rorykeegan1895  It's a temporary reduction. Electric cars are the future, and that's where the UK is showing significant growth. Brexit was seven years ago, if you can't remember. The EU percentage of global trade shrinks every year, whilst the BRIC economies grow, except for Russia, of course. It's now down to just 13%, compared to the Anglosphere, which is 30%. By the time the Anglosphere falls to EU levels, the EU will be at around 5%., and almost insignificant. If you want to keep looking to the past, that's up to you. I'll look to the future, which is the only place worth looking.

Of course the SNP, accepted this, as they were so confident the Scottish people were on there side. However unfortunately, for them. They weren't. The crying of sore losers is pathetic. The same goes for Brexit.

Heads won out over feelings, which could only be a good thing. "the UK had control of the media". The days of the lame stream media are long gone. Unless you still watch the TV news, and blindly believe what they say. We now live in an age of mass information. All available for everyone to read in the comfort of their armchair. If people can't be bothered to do their own independent research, then that's their fault.

Or as they termed it, a "peoples vote". As though it wasn't people who voted in the first one. In 2014, the SNP tried the same trick, by getting it so that 16 year old children could vote. When the age for all other votes is 18. They thought that by getting kids to vote, that they would be more likely to be brainwashed by the woke socialist agenda, and thus more likely to vote for Scottish Independence. However, as we know, that trick still failed.

  42.  @Challis1989  "Biting"? 16 year olds can only vote in elections to the Scottish parliament. For UK General Elections and Referenda, the minimum age is 18. The age at which you first have all the rights as a adult. Allowing kids to vote, was a ploy to increase the vote for left-wing parties like the SNP. Younger voters are more likely to have been brainwashed into the woke agenda, now present in schools, and so are more likely to vote for socialist parties. OK. 16 years have some adult rights, but not all. They can't get a mortgage, loans, drink alcohol or smoke. Voting is a serious matter and needs a level of maturity. 18 is a sensible age, as the minimum to be able to engage in such an activity.
