At the heart of all this is not only the racism, but the desire to dismantle the public education system and replace it with private schools you have to pay to attend. If this man becomes president you can say goodbye to public education in the US.

They were calling XBox woke because it has an energy saving feature.

DeSantis has taken an additional 4 billion dollars from public schools for private school vouchers. They will not be happy till they destroy public education.

@amercanmade2685 Is that the synopsis for the far right African American Studies program? "Hey, sure slavery was bad, but we didn't start it so shut up.".

@amercanmade2685 hmmm interesting point. Can we apply this approach to all of history? How do you teach about Nazi Germany without bias? No way to do that anymore than there is a way to teach about slavery and oppression without bias. For myself I don't feel guilt which is why I have no problem with it being taught or with hearing about it. It seems only certain people of a certain political persuasion have a problem with an accurate telling of history.

@amercanmade2685 Then you can start with the fact that the US was not the first to abolish slavery. Haiti was the first nation to abolish slavery and many others before us. Mexico abolished slavery 34 years before the emancipation proclamation. It is true Lincoln left the WHIG party to join the newly formed Republican party because it was the progressive party at the time. Basically the opposite of the GOP of today. So basically my friend what you are calling for is a rewrite of history where the US lead the fight to end slavery, Lincoln was a conservative and that the democrats and republicans in 1880 were the same as they are today.

@amercanmade2685 Oh by the way we were one of the last nations to end slavery and the only one that had to fight a civil war to accomplish that goal.

@amercanmade2685 No actually US was one of the last to abolish slavery. Brazil and cuba abolished slavery two years after the end of the civil war. Matter of fact if the South had won the war it's possible slavery could still exist (legally). We can try to whitewash and reinvent history, but the facts are the US was the last great holdout for the slave trade and the trade ended when the South lost the war.

@amercanmade2685 Besides Brazil and Cuba name 3 countries that ended slavery after 1865.
