  3. Yes crazy people sound rational because they truly believe what they are saying is true. I knew a girl who was convinced her ex husband was part of a secret cabal and was paying people to follow her around planning to kidnap her. She had a perfectly rational sounding backstory and seemed to truly believe it. The lithium helped her though.
