They get the benefit of forcing the poor to eat non nutritious foods and best of all they won't have to go shopping for their crap and therefore they don't have to look at them in the supermarket. Now they just need to require all who require housing assistance must live a minimum of 50 miles outside of major city centers. Soon they can have the poor starve in the middle of nowhere to make it easier to ignore them.
