He established National parks and authored the square deal based on 3 things 1: Conservation of natural resources. 2. regulation of big corporations and consumer protection and 3. government should play a role in correcting the injustices and balance the different interests in society reaching a middle ground that could be fair as possible for all. In his first state of the union address he said "the old laws, and the old customs which had almost the binding force of law , were once quite sufficient to regulate the accumulation and distribution of wealth. Since the industrial changes which have so enormously increased the productive power of mankind, they are no longer sufficient". Theodore Roosevelt was the Bernie Sanders of his day.
