Yes I get the impression it is a fear campaign to keep people from getting free pork instead of buying it.

@georgeweatherspoon8328 Good idea. Let's get all the right wingers to move to the desert.
35
I live in Florida and find this crazy. We have people going hungry while Key West is overrun with chickens.
34
Oh my god you too VICE? Is there no news outlet in America that is willing to tell the truth anymore?
20
@alanfayetti5896 Maybe you should live in your country. All I saw was a bunch of middle and upper class spaniards throwing a fit because they don't control the majority population. If the Venezuelan people hate Maduro so much then why didn't they take to the streets? Why did so many go to the palace to defend Maduro? Why didn't the military support Guido? You are a member of the former ruling class who wants to regain control. In my country you would be considered a traitor if you asked a foreign power to launch a military attack on his own nation in order to overthrow the democratically elected government. We call them Benedict Arnolds. Will you be happy when the US invades, bombs your cities to rubble and kills hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan people? You are asking the US to turn Venezuela into another Libya.
12
It is pathetic. When you watched it live you knew that there was no uprising just a small band of armed protestors.

FirstEastern Perspective Yes that is our standard policy. Overthrow and murder anyone who disagrees with us. Of course we need to kill them quickly. We certainly don't want a trial that people might see and hear. I guess our alliance with the Saudis is making us more and more like them. I prefer the days of my youth when a country had to attack us or threaten us in some manner before we attacked them.
5
@laetrille I don't have to live in Venezuela to know the devastation of war. The problems in Venezuela are the responsibility of the Venezuelan people. Bombing their cities and killing untold thousands of them will not help anyone. My country has been at war for almost 20 years. We know the aftermath of these invasions and it is devastating for the native populations. We have turned Iraq into rubble and killed over 1 million civilians. Libya a once functioning nation is now holding human slave auctions in the city squares. How is this helping anyone?
5
If this was in America the streets would have been littered with the dead.
5
FirstEastern Perspective Kind of like Donald Trump? Seriously I can tell you feel strongly about this. I think it's time for you to return to Venezuela and fight. We are already at war with 8 countries we don't need 9. Fight your own war and leave us out of it.

US does not cover things up we ignore them.
3
Just goes to show greed has no limits
3
If you care about the Venezuelan people then write your congressman and tell them to leave them alone.
3
@jerrymarquez642 I'm so sorry your life is so hard my Spanish friend. I'm guessing you live in the United States?
3
One side is lying and that is us. The vast majority of the population supports the Maduro Government. What kind of brutal dictator would suppress an uprising without killing anyone? The only fatality was a venezuelan soldier who was shot in the neck by Guido's people. The Venezuelan police did not even use live rounds. It should be frightening to everyone that the US media are all pushing this propaganda.
3
@captainjok572 If Guido has the support of the majority of Venezuela then where are they?
3
@captainjok572 yep. Nowhere near the majority. I've seen bigger crowds at an Elton John concert. His party is the minority party
3
People are so crazy. All of this to save something they will later have for dinner.
2
@laetrille I did not say I am from Venezuela.
2
I'm not a Maduro supporter, but we do at least understand that sanctions have an effect on the economy don't we? I mean damaging the economy is the point of sanctions aren't they?
1
total bullshit
1
Don't go to any church and you won't be taught to believe fantastical things against all evidence to the contrary.
1
@michaelrogers7460 I was thinking maybe genetically modified snakes with legs and a bill like a pelican.
1
Not terrifying if you watched it live. This story is total bullshit
1
@ssach7 No einstein I watched the live news feeds as it was happening
1
@letraslyrics1380 He probably meant "only venezuela's minority population who consider themselves Spaniards" It just happens to be you won't find them living in poor neighborhoods. They are privileged enough to live well and form the middle and upper classes.
1
@letraslyrics1380 Thank you. I guess every source of information I have read is wrong. My understanding is that the majority population is indo/african and only guido's people consider themselves spaniards (interesting he is hiding in the spanish embassy). Who were all those well dressed people on expensive scooters and cars outside high end high rises? I tell you I can't even trust my own eyes anymore.
1
@letraslyrics1380 Oh did you see the footage of Guido going into the bario? The mob of people who lived there attacked his car and tried to rip him to pieces. However, I am sure there are poor people who support Guido. I guess they were too starved to join in the coup.
1
Greed is our downfall. No thought about whether or not a region's ecosystem can support growth just how much richer can a small number of people get. Florida is a perfect example there is no way the ecosystem can support the massive number of people moving there.
1
Probably because they are already conditioned to believe in things without question.
1
@williamzholla there was only about 20 of them and they were well paid
1
@sal_strazzullo Oh. Thank you. I thought it was a combination of falling oil prices, US sanctions and bad governing by Maduro. Hell it's probably Russia's fault. Everything is right?
1
@sal_strazzullo Oh also no one holds more debt to the Chinese than the US. Is that why 40 million people in the US live at or below the poverty line?
1
@angelromero7783 Yeah! Why can't they understand that is OUR oil?
1
@angelromero7783 You are right Angel I am not Venezuelan and like you I live in the US. If you spaniards feel so strongly about ruling over the majority Indo/african population why aren't you in Venezuela fighting ?
1
@frstsummer maybe, but 1/3 of a nation is embarrassing enough. That's poverty. Many more are poor.
