It also shows what I have always said. In America I hear friends say they will use the military to suppress us. I do not believe that because most in the military are our family members and do not want to harm us. The police yes. Not the military.

@antonidas3812 hmmm how can I put this. Police all over the world tend to behave in a certain way. This is because it takes a certain personality to want to be a cop. The military in the US is made up of volunteers who mostly need a job or a way to get an education. They are not filled with an inborn need to dominate others.

As an American this gives me hope for my country as well.

@aphrodite5499 sure it would. Most military dictatorships control the people with secret police not the military. Even in Belarus many of the soldiers are laying down their shields to stand with their brothers and sisters.

@exsparta Sorry you have such a sad view of human beings. If soldiers are blood thirsty it's the fault of their leaders and parents for raising them wrong. Everyone I have known in my personal life who joined did so because they had no choice. No jobs other than military service.

@jonathanhadley2555 Exactly, very different. Belarus is controlled by a handful of oligarchs who do not represent nor care about the needs of their people.

hmmm guess you did not see how this started. Besides in America much of the looting and violence is the act of agent provocateurs.

@Unknown-ek1ox I understand where you get that impression. Our media is profit driven and showing rioting and looting gets ratings. The truth is that millions of Americans are protesting all over the country peacefully. Peaceful protests don't get ratings so they are not shown. We also have the problem that much of the looting and rioting is initiated by the police. There is plenty of video evidence of cops destroying their own cars, breaking store windows and leaving piles of bricks where protests are happening hoping they will use them.

@jzfvos4038 How did the despots get there? Does that happen overnight? So you feel we should wait until we have a Lukeshenko of our own to fight? Don't talk to me about American privilege. We have almost half our workforce unemployed with little to no means of assistance. 2/3 of bankruptcies in America are from medical bills. We literally have homeless tent cities and homeless begging on every street corner in every city.
