I have to admit as an American it is odd to hear people speak this way. They speak about spending time with their families as if it is a torture. It's also amazing to me that they have so much more freedom to make these choices than Americans do. Most of us have to work full time jobs just to survive and don't have the luxury of letting one member stay home. Americans generally feel terrible about not being able to spend time with their families and Germans seem to hate being with them.

@janeryan2709 The lack of paid leave is not the choice of Americans. We have no choice in that. I was only going on what I see in this report.
