Poverty was just about gone when LBJ started his “Great Society” programs. Since then is has skyrocketed because when you tax producers to pay non producers the producers have less incentive to produce and the non producers have less incentive to start producing. No government ever increased productivity and prosperity by increasing taxes but only funneled money to special interests and to the dead hand of government. Free markets and limited government raise all boats not socialist programs like Newsom’s tiny houses for a million a piece. Where do you think this money is really going along with all the aid for fentynal addicts?

When you have a fiat currency, the banking cartel will always depreciate (run a huge deficit) because that is how the real wealth (land, water, minerals, infrastructure) is transferred to the top insiders. They will never pay down the debt because that mean your currency becomes more valuable as debt is extinguished which means they are no longer robbing you as the currency increases in value. Thats why they hate a gold backed currency because they cannot depreciate the measuring stick.

Health care has had almost nothing to do with life expectancy but rather better nutrition (animal protein and fat) and sanitation which eliminates toxins. Once again Zeihan is lying about inflation which is only caused by government debt monetization, not increased prices. Because of too much government spending and regulation most people will be only debt just barely meeting basic needs similar to the way Roman slaves were treated. The government could get rid of the unconstitutional income tax but keep it as a psychological tool so the herd knows who is in charge.
