Do you mean the footage that is all over the internet?

You have been mislead. No NASA scientists, astronauts or even engineer have ever stated that " Man can’t leave Earth low orbit … Because of the High radiation…of the Van Allan belt". Would you like to spend some time doing some study and come back to us with the actual facts? Take care.

Here are the words of Dr. James Van Allen himself: "The outbound and inbound trajectories of the Apollo spacecraft cut through the outer portions of the inner belt and because of their high speed spent only about 15 minutes in traversing the region and less than 2 hours in traversing the much less penetrating radiation in the outer radiation belt. The resulting radiation exposure for the round trip was less than 1% of a fatal dosage – a very minor risk among the far greater other risks of such flights. I made such estimates in the early 1960s and so informed NASA engineers who were planning the Apollo flights. These estimates are still reliable. The recent Fox TV show, which I saw, is an ingenious and entertaining assemblage of nonsense. The claim that radiation exposure during the Apollo missions would have been fatal to the astronauts is only one example of such nonsense." Dr. James A. Van Allen.

There is no legitimate arguments of any sort that the Van Allen Belts prevent space travel or the Apollo Missions in any way. Take care.

@Snowman374th What you said was ""Every incident of radiation exposure on Earth has lead to a humans death", a statement that is patently and obviously untrue. Every human is at all times exposed to a range of radiations both ionising and non-ionising and this does not lead to their deaths. Perhaps you should learn about radiation before commenting. Take care.

".nasa as we speak are trying figure how to get passed them"....Nope. Try again.

Temperature and Heat are not the same thing. There are very, very few particles in the Van Allen Belts. These few particles have a high velocity so therefore a very high associated temperature but as there are very few particles in this region of space so the overall amount of heat energy that they contain is very, very small. As a consequence they would transfer very little energy to a spacecraft. Take care.

@BattlezoneTN Thank you for your comment. I have several jobs. Take care.

So share your evidence to back up your claim.

@ItsMeScareCro "inverted square law of light"......the what??? Are you perhaps talking about the Inverse Square Law of Radiation??!?!?! Seriously, here is a tip for you. If you are going to discuss Physics with me at least have the slightest clue about what you are talking about.....Take care.

The total mass of the Van Allen Belts in total is somewhere around 11g. Take care.

"the Allen belt "...??????
3
"Every incident of radiation exposure on Earth has lead to a humans death". No.

"The Chinese center guy up for three days he came back"...Can you please clarify exactly which Chinese astronaut that you are talking about?? The Chinese astronaut that returned to Earth on April 30 this year and was placed in a chair was Commander Tang Hongbo who had been in space since 26 October 2023. That is some 187 days. Have you got your facts correct?? Take care.
2
"NASA themselves said they cannot get past the belts" .....No one at NASA ever said this. Please stick to the truth. Take care.

Temperature and Heat are not the same thing. Take care.

Please get your facts correct. All the Goodwill Lunar Rock and Soil Samples are known and catalogued. Both the Netherlands Apollo 11 and Apollo 17 lunar sample displays are safe and well in the National Museum of the History of Science and Medicine in Leiden, Netherlands and have been since they were presented. Their veracity is not in doubt nor ever has been. No moon rock was ever presented to former Dutch Prime Minister Willem Drees nor has NASA or the US government ever stated that there was. It was his relatives that claimed was a moon rock after he passed away in 1988 and it was they that presented it to the Art Museum gaining a sizable tax break in return. The first geologist that laid eyes on it realised it was not of lunar origin. A trained expert will easily know if a rock has lunar origin or not. over 500 rock and soil samples are released by the Lunar Sample Laboratory Facility at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas every year to scientists and organizations who wish to study lunar geology. At this stage literally tens of thousands of geological experts from all over the globe have examined the samples, published their findings and verified their origin as lunar. Take care.

Does it really have to be explained to you that different spacecraft with different masses, using different rockets, on different missions, of different mission durations, on different trajectories, will use different amounts of fuel? Also, can you please provide full original source for your claim re Musk. Take care.
2
@Snowman374th You wrote "Every incident of radiation exposure on Earth has lead to a humans death". This is a totally incorrect statement. The effects of radiation on the human body depends on a range of factors such as nature and type of radiation, intensity, time of exposure and the organs irradiated. Every day, every human is exposed and irradiated by a range of radiations both electromagnetic and ionising. This does not automatically lead to their deaths and your blanket statement shows clearly that you do not understand the topic. Take care.

@jd1399 It takes a huge amount of resources, manpower and finance to carry out a manned lunar landing. Between the end of the Apollo Program when the US congress cut the Apollo funding and the current Artemis Program who exactly was volunteering to provide these resources? Take care.

12 humans and also Dr. James Van Allen himself disagree with you. Take care.

"the Van Halen belt situation"..................are you having the little joke?????
1
"there’s no way that a camera can capture any stars while capturing a planet at the same time"......Starlight is very dim and will not register on correctly exposed photographs taken on a bright surface. This is basic photographic knowledge. Take care.
1
"lost a whole bunch of technology". The US Congress slashed the NASA budget, the Apollo technology became obsolete and was not replaced and much of the infrastructure and technology was either dismantled or repurposed for other uses such as the Space Shuttle and Skylab. The personal knowledge base retired and passed on. If that is what you mean by "lost the technology" then you got it spot on. Take care.
1
"NASA et al can’t send a human through the belts today, or at any point since 1972".....Interesting use of the word "can't", it seems to imply that the either wish to do so or have attempted to do so and failed. The reality is that since the US Congress slashed the NASA budget thus ending the Apollo Program no one has been willing to fund the development and manufacture of the technology necessary to carry out a manned lunar mission. "No bucks, no Buck Rogers". Take care.
1
"there are chains, scrap metal, spark plugs and other machined parts strewn about the “moon”"...Would you care to explain this comment? Take care.
1
@Agarwaen It is quite possible that both "Kissinger and Romsfeild (I assume that he means Rumsfeld!) did actually admit that they have never been to the moon!

So what "heavy shielding" are you talking about and why exactly do you think that it would be necessary? The Van Allen Belt's consist mainly of Beta Particles as well as Alpha Particles. Alpha are stopped by a sheet of paper and Beta by a thin sheet of aluminium. Of more concern would be the Hydrogen Nuclei in the inner belt but the Apollo spacecraft spent little time in this region. Furthermore it was not just the hull of the spacecraft that acted as shielding but also everything that it contained such as fittings, equipment, fuel etc. Take care.
1
@MediaLieDetector Very poor attempt at deflection. You made several claims but can not back them up with any evidence nor do seem capable of discussing this topic. Take care.
1
@MediaLieDetector Again more attempted deflection because you are totally unable to have a discussion about the Van Allen Belts or radiation in general. Again what "heavy shielding" are you talking about and why exactly do you think that it would be necessary? Take care.
1
@MediaLieDetector Almost a week later and you still have not backed up your claim with actual evidence. Take care.
1
@MediaLieDetector As usual, more deflection, zero evidence. Take care.
1
@mateychrnr121 Sol emits very little Gamma or X-rays. Take care.
1
@Agarwaen He wrote "video" and also seems to think that "the module" was going "to come back to earth" so very lightly an idiot. Take care.
1
Collins was never on the moon. Your basic knowledge is poor. Take care.

Hi eddy, hope you are well. Just for your information, nothing rotates in mph as miles per hour are units of linear velocity and linear tangential velocity and angular velocity are not the same thing. The correct value for the Earth's rotation is 0.000073 radians per second. Take care.
1
The comment that the moon "rang like a bell" simply means that the graph of wave pattern of oscillations recorded by the lunar seismic equipment resembled the frequency wave produced by a vibrating bell. Take care.

The Van Allen Belts are called after James Van Allen, who is credited with their discovery and also advised NASA on the Apollo Program and was known about and studied well before the first moon landing. While travel through this region of space requires careful planning, it is not the insurmountable obstacle that many reality deniers, in their ignorance, imagine it to be. The Van Allen Belts is a region of charged particles originating mainly from the solar wind that are contained by the Earth's magnetic field. The capsule walls and equipment shielded the astronauts from the vast majority of the particle radiation. The radiation dosage received by an astronaut while passing through the Van Allen Belts will depend on factors such as speed, shielding, trajectory, time spend in the region etc. The aim of the Apollo missions was to minimise the time spent in this region of space and thus reduce the exposure to a minimum. Here is quote from James Van Allen himself in 2004. "the outbound and inbound trajectories of the Apollo spacecraft cut through the outer portions of the inner belt and because of their high speed spent only about 15 minutes in traversing the region and less than 2 hours in traversing the much less penetrating radiation in the outer radiation belt. The resulting radiation exposure for the round trip was less than 1% of a fatal dosage – a very minor risk among the far greater other risks of such flights". Take care.

Hi gilbert, hope that you are well. Firstly, no one at NASA has ever said that they "haven’t been able to get through the van Allen belt" or that there is a problem for humans passing through the Van Allen Belts per se. There are risks but these can be minimised. That was done nine times in the Apollo era and the same methods can be used again. The main modern challenge is the effect that the particle radiation could have on modern electronics and IC's (components are millions of times smaller than Apollo era components) and the consequential knock on effects on a crew should such electronic systems as guidance and navigation fail. The almost 4 week long Artemis 1 mission was successfully completed in December 2022 and we can look forward to a crewed mission returning to the moon in the next few years. Take care.
