A 2016 study compared the mortality rates of lunar astronauts who have passed away to astronauts who never flew and to those who have only made it to orbit. It found that the number of cardiovascular disease-related deaths among the deep space astronauts were significantly higher. @jamesryan3572 Also modern electronics and IC's are more susceptible to radiation damage than the discrete component electronics used in the Apollo missions.
