  1. "Did we lose the technology to visit the moon?". In a sense, yes. The US Congress slashed the NASA budget, the Apollo technology became obsolete and was not replaced and much of the infrastructure and technology was either dismantled or repurposed for other uses such as the Space Shuttle and Skylab. The personal knowledge base retired and passed on. So in that sense the technology necessary to carry out manned lunar missions was most certainly lost. Take care.
