@ would praising hamas or their leaders or the o7 attacks count ?
7
@Craig2342 as a green card holder the court would have to conclude that he committed crimes of moral turpitude or the national interest is affected. i can see statements supporting hamas, sinwar, or o7 potentially coming into play there. hamas openly calls for the extermination of the jews so would supporting them be cause for deportation? the number of people who differentiate support of hamas vs support of the palestinians generally is very small, cenk uygr being one of very few.

@3laa163 would you say supporting the palestinians is ok but supporting hamas is not?
4
@ is his group CUAD radical?
3
@ about hamas and sinwar or 07? the group he is the leader of made them, no? does that count?
3
@abram730 right but thats not the allegation against him as far as occupation, are you talking about gaza? that has not been occupied since 05 when israel left it to the Palestinians.
2
@stephenhayes5322 correct. not all palestinians support the unaliving of jewish civilians. its also true that that number is far too high.

@Christopheromoan alan dershowitz just covered this. you are asked if you intend to support terrorist organizations. if he handed out flyers in support of al aqsa flood, that would likely qualify as support.
1
@ if he put on his visa application that he did not intend to support terrorist groups, that would likely be seen as a lie, if he was indeed handing out flyers with hamas's logo, or flyers that supported operation al aqsa flood. is it possible that he changed his mind after the application so at the time he did not intend to support a terrorist group? yes. i'm not sure that would hold up in court but its possible.
1
incorrrect. its not a first amendment issue. if he indicated on his visa application that he does not intend to engage in support for terrorist organizations and then handed out flyers in support of al aqsa flood, for example, he would likely be legitimately deported.

@3laa163 would this be ok? "In a fawning November 7 Substack tribute, it described Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar as a “brave man” who will live in the hearts of many. CUAD (khalil is the leader of CUAD) praised the October 7 Massacre as “Sinwar’s crowning achievement” because the “Al-Aqsa Flood was the very essence of what it is to resist ‘with what we have.’” “The act of Palestinian resistance on October 7, known as the Al-Aqsa Flood, breached Israeli security and made significant military advances. [This is] a day that will go down in history.”

@ one interview and you were convinced? is CUAD a radical group?
1
@ what is the bar for revoking his green card?
1
@ handing out flyers with the hamas logo is one allegation. another issue would be his visa application. if he said he did not intend to support terrorist groups, he could be deported if he was shown to support hamas by handing out flyers praising operation al aqsa. its been argued that just being spokesman of CUAD could be enough to deport him as a green card holder whereas a citizen would not be subject to the same standard. as a green card holder he could be deported if he committed crimes of 'moral turpitude', which is a broad category, or that the national interest is affected.
1
@ right. if he handed out flyers with the hamas logo or flyers that supported o7, would that be grounds for deportation?
1
@Sahil-bm8rc not if you're a green card holder. its specifically forbidden and grounds for deportation.
1
@stephenhayes5322 no. but i would ask -what does the charter of hamas say they want to do to the jews? given that, how should israel deal with hamas and the civilians that actively support them?
1
@ no. but i would ask, what does the charter of hamas say they want to do to the jews? then, given that info, what is israel supposed to do about hamas?
