However, they agree that such an order may only be passed by an Islamic ruler or a representative of his court. In addition, three of the four schools require that the apostate, after having been declared as such in court, be given an opportunity to repent. The Hanafi school considers the giving of this opportunity to be recommended and not required. It also takes the view that a female apostate may not be killed (al-Mawsuah al-Fiqhiyyah). The fact that the execution of apostates is only permitted in an Islamic country where the ruler or his representative passes the judgment is of utmost importance. No human being, no matter how serious his crime, can ever be killed without the process of a valid Islamic court. This effectively means that the death penalty will not be passed on an apostate in 99 percent of countries around the globe.

GB and the league of nations controlled that area at that time. the offer to divide the land was accepted by isreal. the palestinians rejected the offer and the surrounding countries declared war on israel, they lost. they have still been offered land for peace as recently as 2005. it worked for egypt and sinai in 71. not so much with the palestiinians. second, i'm referring to now. if one group breaks a peace treaty and massacres 1200 of another groups people while taking a couple hundred hostage, declaring war on the other group, the other group has a responsibility to hold that group accountable and rescue the hostages.

  997.  @LindaBourell  its very strange. i started noticing about a dozen years ago that something was changing. when it came to political talk, the left in particular started to get very intolerant. if youve even heard of jonathan haidt, he has an interesting theory into why this division started and why people became so fragile. filter bubbles play a part in it, as in, people put themselves in isolated online communities and dont get access to information they need in order to have an informed opinion about events. we basically have people living in different worlds with totally different ideas about the world we live in due to this 'asymmetry of information ' . i truly worry about the future since i dont see a solution.

  1004.  @l.w.paradis2108  agreed. i'm very critical of the US doing that. as far as the german intention in ww2, we know what they were trying to do, i think. exterminate the jews, world domination. the US was trying to stop them from doing those things . when germany was defeted, the us helped them rebuild and didn ttake their land. in that conflict i think the us had good motivation and the germans had bad motivations, even though more germans died in the conflict than us soldiers.

"expel them from the land from which they expelled you". so the question is, how is israel supposed to handle living next to a people who expressly want to exterminate them and say they will keep trying to do so?
