  3.  @DavidZ4-gg3dm  because of partition and subsequently brexit there is a land border between the eu and britain..if ireland hadnt been partitioned this wouldnt exist ..we now have asylum seekers from britain crossing the land border as there are no longer checks on the border..as an aside all the issues with a smooth brexit also stemmed from this issue..

  4.  @DavidZ4-gg3dm  Yes but you can have checks at airports and seaports but the land border is porous deliberately so as not to hinder trade or the movement of people.

  5.  @DavidZ4-gg3dm  there are now..people who come by plane who 'lost'their passport are being refused entry..the point is they are a lot easier to police if necessary..
