There is always a difference between the state of mind and the reality on the ground. As far as I remember, in the West it was said that Ukraine is winning, and when you see the reality, there is confusion in the mind. The war started because there was a different mindset between the West and Russia.

@cwpv2477 Ukraine is over as it was. The West did not agree to any of the peace agreements, including the last one where the Russians demanded 4 regions of the former Ukraine. That is now over and the Russians will now ask for more. The West's conditions for peace announced by Zelensky were the withdrawal of the Russian army to the borders of 1991, which meant Russia's capitulation. Now the war goes on, so we'll see what happens.

@yomismo6969 Yes, Bakhmut now Artjomovsk, Avdeevka and Pokrovsk are more important than Kherson from where Russians withdrew in October 2022 and move front where logistics are easier for Russians. This is war of attrition more than a war for territory.
