  2. modern day war is more about strategic global positioning of various markets and a reallocation of resources than an ideolgical struggle between varying belief systems @lyubi111 . physical, tangible, and material progress is painstakingly achieved by means that can contradict spiritual laws of not doing harm unto others. If you see that countries are more akin to markets, and that the physical world is one big market, it's easier to understand. This world has long fallen into the hands of the wicked and till Armageddon, their will be no peace, regardless of which/what empire is currently dominant. Thinking that Russia or China would somehow operate the global market any better or differently than how it is operated today is naive and quite honestly ignorant. Corruption cannot be removed from the world until corruptibility is removed from the heart of man. Empires rise, and empires fall, but the animal in man will seek to dominate and control as much as 'he' can because the world is more like Cain than Abel. That is why we have progress and industry rather than peace. You were smashed over the head with a club for your moccasins and watering hole by a bigger animal while you sang "Kumbaya," swallowed like a fish by a more aggressive fish.
