  6. Everything is so socially unstable it seems to be that sustained total war is just impossible. Maybe a proxy war over Taiwan, maybe India, but both us and our enemies are so unstable anything that devastating to the common people would just trigger a complete collapse

  9. It'll happen, but it won't be a world war as we know it. Worst case scenario, the world is split between the west and the rest, and the rest simply doesn't have enough power to do anything except ward off European and American takeover. A direct war between America and China will be bloody but neither would ever consider stepping foot on each other's land in fear of total annihilation. China has a window of about a decade before they have so few young people that a war would inevitably collapse their dying nation. Expect an incursion of Taiwan within 5 years. If they win Taiwan, we'd enter a depression that will change the west radically as well as cripple China and slightly postpone their demographic collapse.
