  2. Rome was already collapsing, the Huns were just in the right time. Most Huns that supposedly beat Rome, were blue eyed and blond haired Germans who had been born as Huns. The same enemy of Rome as always.

  3. Rome fell long before the Huns. It was divided and mismanaged. Roman culture and Roman values had been diluted by immigrants for centuries, which caused the Romans to lose their warrior culture, and pay others to fight for them. The Romans paid the Huns to fight off Germanic tribes, but as instability took over the western empire, which had been long been separated from the eastern empire, Byzantium, the Huns saw an opportunity, and simply walked into Rome, and no one really did anything about it, because the western empire was already falling apart. The Romans had kept the Germanic and nomadic tribes out of their lands for millennia, the Huns were not special, and having a reunited China defeat them means nothing. The eastern empire survived, because it was not filled with Germanic immigrants, and they mostly kept their homogenic warrior culture. Rome fell, the Huns were a symptom, not a cause.

Romans trained and paid their soldiers much better than any other at the end of the republic and the start of the empire. The early imperial military could have and did crush all armies of their time. China could not have beaten Rome. China is not a country of warriors.

Europeans have always had a warrior culture, their infighting and competition is the reason their armies and cultures have come to dominate, and the disillusion of said warrior culture is what has made them stagnate, same as the late roman empire. If the Chinese army had to face off against the early empire's legions, they would have been crushed. Rome collapsed as they had no real enemies to fight for a long time, and they had all the resources they needed. This caused degeneracy and complacency, and the roman armies slowly degenerated to majority non-roman. That is why Rome collapsed, degeneracy and complacency coming from a surplus of resources and general lack of outside threats. This is what China has been for most of history. No threats, no lack of resources, no need for a highly skilled efficient army. The Chinese would have lost against Rome.

The coming crisis and need for growth has the corporatist Chinese grasping at straws for any remainder of tradition, but the majority of details have been lost to the fires of history. The west had the burning of the library of Alexandria, and the destruction of history by authoritarians in ww2. China had the cultural revolution, "voluntary" demolition of Chinese tradition.

If you matched a united Rome against a divided China, of course Rome would win, it's just unfair. So, to be roughly equal, we pit united imperial rome, against united China. Rome: Superior navy, more production, better metalworking, better food supply and more advanced farming, superior numbers, stronger, taller men, more military experience, better communication and organization, military tactics, personnel training, soldiers had standardized equipment that they did not have to pay for, far better pay, colonization experience, better trade routes and more diverse economy, less autonomous government, and a hierarchy based more on merit than birth, more mobile army, superior horse breeds, better climate conditioning, siege, occupation, urban, mountain, and rural tactics and experience, knowledge of guerilla warfare, raiding and terrorism, chariot army and tactics, as well as better archers. China has more people, which needs more food, and often starves, along with a nobility that will split off and try to gain control of their country. The real issue is that you think China has ever been more powerful than anyone else. China has been plundered, raped, and exploited by everyone you can think of for all of history. China always loses.

I also have to point out that every other protest here is against either another protest or event somewhere on the list, which just goes to show that not only you who copies and pasted it, but the person who made it, has no idea that they are just saying "Ha! Look at all these bad things and normal people having the freedom to go outside and protest so that said bad things don't happen! I bet you feel bad about living in a country that allows such liberties, huh?!" Sad you have no counterargument like I do, but I guess that just goes to show how ignorant you are.

Chinese soldiers, who had to provide most of their own equipment, (which the Romans had stopped making their soldiers do since the birth of the Republic) were carrying throwing spears into battle. This would provide a great advantage when fighting other armies directly, as the enemy's organization and morale would take an immediate hit before attack. Unfortunately, these spears would often be thrown back by the enemy. Instead of finding a way to better this tactic, and taking the opportunity to make it more effective and efficient, the Chinese simply stopped allowing soldiers to carry throwing spears. The romans instead incorporated this into their tactics, and manufactured and provided the Pilum, which would be easily thrown, but could not be thrown back.
