You obviously have never heard of inflation. Based on those values it should have sold for $350 000 and would have the same value. The doubling on that to $700k is from land value increases - i.e. stolen from the younger generations.

This isn't a sales pitch. It it a demand for surrender.

Economically speaking 90% of the 'primary value' is created in the repetitive section, food - shelter - transport - communication and so you will see that the companies owning the AI will profoundly aggravate the current inequality situation unless some kind of new economic model is adopted - ie. being different from one where shareholders are entitled to the entire residual beyond the costs.

It is a tech demo. Their plan is almost certainly to sell the tech to appl, msft or goog. The downsides you mention can be easily overcome in different ways. For example - just let it broadcast to any nearby screen over wifi.

@OneTwoMark I bet you with there with the Apple Newton mansplaining what a dumbass invention portable computers are.

"I do know It was us who scorched the sky".

Quit drinking, it is part of the overall process that causes this ongoing social malaise.

Nope. They feed it actual ice cream flavours and paint colors. It 'garbaged out' with relatively good input. The problem is it lacked 'understanding'.
4
The distinction is a pedantic and useless one, the technologies that are ai but not machine learning were invented in the 60's and haven't been used since then.
3
y = ax + c is used by many machine learning algorithms. Complexity is not a requirement.
3
Absolutely they can. Just like AI cannot manage investment portfolios without a human, AI will need human doctors for some things. Most basic tasks will go to the AI though.

You have already been for decades. Inside every ICBM there is a targeting algorithm.
2
If you think carefully about it you will see there is no contradiction here.

He said that, but his real motivation was that if he did not they would take their skills etc to the competition. In other words, it was the birth of skilled labour being more expensive. Remember, at that time, unskilled labour earned so little they were malnourished.

Brontosaurus respectfully disagrees.
2
He is the worst possible guy to be talking about this, because he tries to explain the problem in abstract concepts, rather than in emotional pictures. Research shows that explaining makes people skeptical, just like when a vacuum cleaner salesman wants to explain his amazing product to you.
2
We have a long history of smart machines with no conscience. It is called a psychopath.
2
Bah. Is it not possible he was wrong then and right now? Have you ever been wrong in your life?

Temperatures were rising before we burned fossil fuels and they do go up and down naturally. But that does NOT mean that fossil fuels cannot increase temperatues. Venus has a greenhouse atmosphere and temperatures down there are problematic for the local inhabitents.

In the 20 year future I can see effortless switching to any interface - screen, display onto surface, voice, facial expression (from a room camera), body internal (via watch) etc with compute and communications being handled behind the scenes so you don't even know when your phone hands the running app over to the cloud or your watch in whole or in part. The AI will automatically select the correct interface based on the situation so you are note fiddling around with things.

Soon being 5, 10 and 15 years.

This mentality gets nowhere. Republicans will always be back in power every few years. Rather find a way together with Republicans to kick fossil fuels out.
1
It is not science fact either, not yet.

Bull. Industry is supporting political campaigns of legislators. It is not called the swamp for nothing.
1
The alternative to 'getting on' played out in WW2. If you recall, the globalists won that war and the nationalists were exposed as mass murderers. You have a surname of slavic origins - if nationalists had won - you would have spent your life in a labour camp or worse.

No mention of how you will prevent CRISPR edited microbiomes from spreading from the patient into the general environment, potentially causing massive damage for those who don't need the CRISPR bacteria. Very worrying.

He was elected. They declared GOP the winner despite this.
1
The speaker understands this. That's why they created the World Bank, so you can finance renewables in Africa rather than coal and oil - it only takes a week or so for emissions to spread around the world. Except they are not doing their job.

If there was political will the solution would be easy, the stroke of a pen. There is currently no political will. Thanks to generous political donations expect this to continue indefinitely.
1
Because he has different politics to you or for another reasons?

Leisha trollmel.

You have to plant huge forests, there is nowhere suitable for this, and even if there is, one dry path and they all burn.

The two companies with the most resources invested into this open sourced it. You might think Elon and Zuck are demons but they probably just saved us.
1
For our lives I think you are right. Humanity has changed course before, but right now we should all be investing in gas mask companies.
1
Your doctor has 65% of fixing your medical problem. The AI has 95% chance of fixing your medical problem. The doctor can be sued but the AI can't. Pick one.
1
You might be right, in which case, kudos. If you are wrong, the costs for humanity could be high. Do you want that on your conscience?
1
The original inhabitants of Britain were dark skinned. You, my pale skinned friend, should return back to wherever the Viking boats, the Roman Galleys and the French flotte came from and leave England to it rightful brownish inhabitants.
1
Is the measure of views a measure of quality? Gangnam Style has over 10 000 times as many views as this video but is patently less likely to solve humanity's problems.

Do you know what they say about fancy shoes... ....fancy feet!
1
I rewatched this today and nine years ago. The words must ring true because I remember every single one of them.

Disagree. Most tech billionaires live in a cheap house and don't have a garage full of Ferraris or a yacht. Some do. Prefer it to nation states having a monopoly on it, see WW1, WW2, Cold War, as well as all the other wars. What were we looking for in Iraq again?
