There are a lot of idiots out there who believe their financial advisor can pick stocks for them when something like 95% of professional portfolio managers cannot beat index funds over 15 years. These clients are just muppets and the advisors just leeches. The clients see no value in what they consider secondary services - budgeting, tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning, medical etc.
