The Shadow of Mordor has reached far indeed to acquire the TV rights.

Parasite is a remake of Shallow Grave from the 90's. Everybody copies - it is just whether the end result if good or rotten.

He claimed to be Catholic. His works were unashamedly Pagan.
5
Identity politics is ruining a lot of things these days: business, technology, sport, movies and even good old fashioned conspiracy theories.
5
My impression is that Lucas was not so enamored with the whole Hero's Journey thing because it was too close to various brands of spirituality. The prequels cut out that stuff and the force became some blood parasite etc. I contest that actual reason IV, V and VI will last 1000 years is that they speak to what peoples hearts are searching but which their heads reject.

Single old man takes little boys into the forest to 'find the ring'. Diverse indeed.

Well, Sauron care about the authenticity of Amazon story as much as he cares about one of his orcs languishing on the fields of Mordor tying to package 1001 boxes in an hour in 46 degree Celsius heat. Wait, what were you trying to say?
3
Of the Silmarillion: When I was about 11 I went to the ends of the earth to get a copy of it. I found it so strange to read, having only read proper stories before.

The only comment in the entire comments section grounded in facts. Luckily all five upvoters are now better informed people.

More like: "No Jeffrey, I would not got that way unless I have any other choice".

Faithful and verbatim are not the same thing.
2
They are accountable for ticket sales. The thing is they have discovered there is good market for fake movies that carry a good quality approval badge on the box.
2
Actually no. The Duel, Dune and a bunch of other releases were quality in 2021 - there are just outside of the big name franchises. Movie franchises are like fast food franchises - designed for people whose only fear is not getting something entirely mediocre.
2
Look what they did to Luke Skywalker. They can easily subvert(pervert?) something that is the original.
2
If you let her, Kathleen Kennedy would totally do that for you. Totally.
2
The Orcs are elves that have been tortured and their skin is a dark color. There are no female Orcs - since they are created from mud - there is no need for them. I doubt they even have junk under their skirts.
2
Justifying his actions because he 'employs lots of orcs'.
2
Tolkien said his works are not allegory. He said he hated allegory. If the book was 'Christian' Frodo would have been eaten by lions in a Roman circus and canonized by the Pope.
2
Songs are a 20 second commitment and quality is clear evident from the beginning or not. Movies are a 100 times more commitment and quality assessment takes a week to sink in.
2
Gandalf died for trying that stunt. Just try that with Bezos and watch what his bodyguards do to you.
1
I love them too. But they are going to change them into a different story that might make you nauseous - like watching Luke Skywalker drink milk.
1
I made up my mind I was done with franchises for good. Then I accidentally watched one episode of Mandalorean... and now I am so confused...
1
No. He wrote it as an outlet for his language knowledge. Silmarillion was written as the Anglo-Saxon myth.
1
Lol. One one guy in the comments is awake today.
1
Mad Max: Fury Road was a soft reboot better than the original. Just sayin.
1
Kathleen Kennedy would like to be in charge...
1
"Its a trap" was bad acting/script inside a really great movie. That is how a meme is born. Bad lines inside a bad movie are just forgettable.
1
Dunno. People loved Matrix. People don't like the two sequels. I think it TFA sucked from the beginning - it is just the sheer magnitude of the slow motion car crash only became fully revealed after Luke had to drink milk.
1
Even Brokeback Mountain?
1
If Chistopher Nolan spent 15 years on a movie he would be 410 years old now (26 *15 +20). He spent 1% of 10 years coming up with the ideas.
1
The problem with Villeneuve movies is that despite their artistic excellence if you have seen one you have seen them all. Blade Runner 2 was a bit too slow, too confusing and way too hard to identify with the main character. Just like all Villeneuve's other movies.
1
Lol. That was actually more LGT/BLT than anything else.
1
Game of Bone(er)s.
