  10. The word for it is Nationalism. We know it well here in the west, because we created whole Empires based on it, from the British Empire to the 3rd Reich, and eventually gave up on it as a workable system. China and Russia still need to learn that lesson.

Intellectual property theft cuts both ways - to be truely fair the US should give up writing, explosives, religion, philosphy, wheels, electricity, itnernal combustion engines and farming as those were invented elsewhere. I get there are differences and rules - but the rules are determined by the incumbents and the differences depend greatly on your nationality.

  19. China was very badly treated by foreign powers during its history (research it and it is very clear) and memory of that is constantly refreshed by progaganda. The West forgave Germany its sins but China cannot forgive, and so they must lock themselves into a forever war they are ill prepared to fight.

  22. There is something screwy about the concept of GDP. If I sell (say) guns to organized crime, it boosts GDP but is kills prosperity in the country. The quality of GDP needs to be evulated more than the quantum. China taught us and is still teaching us this lesson.
