  1. The problem has to do with the business trying to do low value things with an expensive tool, programmers. If you work working on something that will make or break the business and will make them $100m they will treat you like gold. Instead, some low level nobody in accounting wants a button so she does can do nothing all afternoon. Software development should focus only on high value business projects. Spreadsheets work fine for everything else.
