Goods transport. If you are selling stuff delivery cost now drops close to zero.

Couldn't sleep last night thinking similar thoughts. I was thinking an office that drives around. Rather than having an office in a building your office just moves with you where you need to go. Maybe a company has a 1000 of them and they just swarm together or break apart as needed.

Nope. It is there already. There are Uber drivers who just let FSD do everything and hardly ever have to intervene. Remote operation is also standard for Robotaxis (Waymo does it). Wall Street will only pay attention once the growth on the income statement is there.

Not going to happen. Tesla got badly burned sharing nerdy details as China and other then immediately invested billions to copy. Copying is not a threat if it lags your development by 5 years, but it is a major threat if it lags by only 5 months.

I think so. But that is good for shareholders like me because it gives Tesla a massive moat.

Lag is an issue. Mars Rovers etc are teleoperated but the do things very slowly as a result. I think the ideal is that teleoperation is only for training scenarios.

You are 100% correct for customers who are price sensitive. For those that $100k is not a big deal purchase they may prefer not to share.

Don't think so small. A corporation with 1000 employees could have 200 Robovans that work as conference rooms, focus rooms, corner offices or anything else. Even for mechanical stuff - you drive in your model 3 to the customer and all your machinary and tools follows behind in the Rabovin.

Yes. Length and roof height. Also with and without the low aerodynamic trim.

It will definitely solve the staring problem.

The whole point is not to paint it or have to repaint after bumper bashings, trolley dings and so on. Over the life of a vehicle I reckon it could save ten of thousands of dollars. Over a fleet of 10m vehicles it could easily save $1 billion.

Drive in the night. Wake up at a new location each morning. Avoid bad weather this way.

Well spotted. Here in South Africa all last mile delivery is done in privately owned small passenger cars. It is more cost effective than vans.

I am glad they didn't put the rear wheels behind a body panel. Would have been too 1950's.

Absolutely. They won't compete. Jeff will have to eat humble pie and write a check to Tesla.
1
Yes. So you can play Grand Theft Auto on the screen.

@davidfrankel9267 I don't think Elon will miss that trick. It will fit with the smallest of tolerences.

It can't swim.
