FSD saw the trump flag. Then saw the truck. Then remembered January 6. Then got ready to dodge. AI is better than humans at pattern recognition.

Makes no sense. If you own stock are you defacto long. The only way you can vote is if you are a stockholder. Shorts cannot vote.
37
Its gone. China is 50% EV sales last month. Will be at 80% in a year. 100% in 5 years. What can VW sell them?
29
People who follow media say when Reuters decided to paywall their site they moved to a clickbait strategy. The days of them being the 'reputable outlet' are now gone.
21
You can buy a pumpkin where you once bought a lemon.
20
Not what he said - he said Reuters was lying but refused to say what they were lying about, which implied there was some truth in what they said.
19
In over 40 us states there is no such thing as "approved by authorities" for FSD - you can just start using it. If it crashes, a judge will decide damages.
19
BYD have said they have 60 000 engineers - compared the 10 000 Toyota engineers you mention.
17
I don't believe in large spontaneous demonstrations. They are organized and funded. You have to ask who this benefits - German legacy auto is one canditate.
14
Modern EVs explode 10x less than ICE. Even less once Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries become more common.
12
This is not correct. The only place gas trucks work out better is towing big loads over big distances (F250) or extreme situations where customers are 500 miles away with no place to supercharge. These are unusual circumstances.
11
Estimated superchargers in the US number (est 12000) roughly 10x less than gas stations (120000). The number needs to increase but I don't think Tesla needs to fund that. Tesla should franchise out Supercharger stations - allow owner to have a gas station store and a coffee bar.
11
100%. They want the cash out so they can invest it in another company.
11
Remember, employees vote as shareholders in Germany. This is normally a good thing but when it requires big cuts they always vote the wrong way.
11
Innovation outputs === investment inputs
11
Others take them there. With a 405 mile range Tesla you can drive through most small towns to the next town. If worst comes to the worst you can sleep over and charge over night with an overnight charger you bring with you.
9
If it did it market cap would fall to 50 from 500. Whether you hate him or love him, Tesla needs Elon.
9
4680 encountered production problems. It is currently going into the Cybertruck and ramping at about 3x the needed rate. Not enough for any other vehicles. They hope to get its cost down to a competitive level by year end. Sometimes innovation is hard.
9
India has not seized foreign factories since economic liberalization began in 1991. I would worry more about Shanghai.
8
If I were the CEO of VW I would give Musk a call and offer Tesla 50% of the shares of VW in exchange for open access to Tesla technology.
8
ICE cars are measured with empty fuel tanks, no engine oil or other liquids of any sort. Add that in and suddenly the difference is not that much.
8
Robin Denholm is the Chairman of the Tesla Board.
8
The Xpeng Viking. Watch this space.
8
This credit is small potatoes compared to the constant government assistance Ford/Gm and oil companies get. If they cancel ALL subsidies Tesla will quickly win the entire US market - people might have to pay $5000 more a vehicle but they will soon realize they are happy to do that.
8
They may be selling them at a loss = limited production.
8
On the other hand it adds a lot to the weight and price of the vehicle. I never drive more than 100 miles in a day.
8
It all depends on the research budget : zero, millions or billions. It makes all the difference.
8
Toyota could default on the loan. Then the debtholders become shareholders. Fixed costs are normally sunk costs - in other words, they money has all been paid. Plant, R&D - these dwarf things like rent and fixed staff. None of this helps with not having a competitive EV - which is the real problem.
8
The big deal is that Tesla share price is down 40% and much more from its high. Add the whole Twitter thing in and large amounts of people are out for blood and can see no good in anything Tesla does. They can't see that the business is good, the plans are good and it just takes some time to work miracles. Tesla shares could easily be 10x in 5 or so years.
7
Letting China have its way could result in more suffering.
7
They will be back. Volvo, MG - they are back - made in China, of course.
7
Uncle Scholtz will write them a cheque. Oh, wait, he gave it to Ukraine.
7
Tesla shareholders recently held what was effectively a vote of confidence for Musk, and shareholders overwhelmingly supported that things continue as is.
7
@billbarr7591 As EV sales rise flat owners will be forced to install car charging in the basement and others will specialize in on-the-street charging. The first ICE cars had nowhere to buy fuel.
7
40k is now 50k inflation adjusted.
6
XPENG is the next Evergrande.
6
For the first couple of years, yes. For the following thousand years they will raise prices AND leave you unemployed.
6
Do you have the kids already or do you wish to obtain them to suitably fill up your future vehicle?
6
Have similar noise experience in one of their cheaper models.
6
That car is so heavily subsidized, that is why it is China only. I bet it costs $50k to make one, compared to Tesla $35000 for a similar model.
6
Risking jail time for $30's copper. Does not seem sustainable.
6
By a certain measure- everyone is in some kind of cult. You are in the stalks and button cult.
5
Also, how much they cost. Also, how fast they charge.
5
As a 'Tesla Guy' I find your hatred perplexing.
5
I also noticed this.
5
@marvenlunn6086 They last decades. They are 100% recyclable. Lead acid last 3 months. You need to do some reading.
5
Hyperloop was a SpaceX white paper. Elon never worked on it.
5
What risk? You could drop one on your toe - that would suck.
5
Lol
5
Narcissists need it. And will pay.
