It might be rational but it is untrue - Multiple people at Tesla have repeatedly denied this. And not for Osborne effect reasons. Tesla will release a cheaper car based on the model 3/y next year - a 30k vehicle. The 20k vehicle is delayed 10 years at least.
3
Remember, there will be millions of models 3 and Y doing robotaxi service as well. Just in case you need 3 people - or 2x adults and 2x children. Since they have a steering wheel and pedals the drivers seat will be off limits for Model 3 and Y.
3
If it gets stuck a Tesla employee will remotely drive it out of it problem - or you just call another one and do a quick switch.
2
They can't even make an EV at a profit. Ford is losing $200k per EV sold. Do some research.
2
With a roof rack you could have two extra child seats on top.
2
A medium fee - roughly $3 in rich countries. This will drop to roughly 70c with cybercab, with Tesla;s internal cost being 30c. Owning a car will make little sense.
2
You are correct but probably not for the reasons you think. Car people who attempted costings came out at $10k-$15k cogs. It may sell for 30k but you only get to keep 30% of the fares for yourself - the rest goes to Tesla. Tesla has been mum on revenue sharing so far.
2
99% of these will be owned by Tesla. You can buy one if you have a small kid and can't share the car with others for the next 3 years.

Sam is talking nonsense. The Cybercab could probablt fit 4 foldable wheel chairs. 60% of the car is boot space.
1
Unboxed means they make the car in four separate sections simultaneously, then join those together like Lego at the last moment = 4x production speed. Chassis, left side, right side and top. Much harder to do than it sounds.
1
You just buy one of these for 30k and while you are not using it, it goes and earns money for you. Net cost of two years = 5k. If you don't want vomit on the seats just restrict to family and friends on the app.
1
Thanks to Uber. Younger generation don't want to drive.

Virtually every vehicle has multiple trips to a panel beater. The Cybercab is designed to be 10% of the usual cost for paint and other minor repairs. It will be plastic on the surface which returns to shape with some heat and can be buffed to look new. No taking off panels and repainting them.
1
Research: Roughly 50% of people 'like to drive' with 15% 'really liking it'. If you dig into the reasons they like it, a Cybercab might suit half of them better e.g. They like to see the scenery fly by or get out of the house. There is also the matter of safety - 1.5m dead per year, 41k in the US.
1
The will cast the chassis in one piece unlike current 3/Y which use 2 parts.
1
True. But they are blocked from the US and the EU and India. They can sell to themselves and some odds and ends locations.
1
What would be a good PE to buy Amazon, Tesla or NVDA at? 1000? 10000? More? There is no theoretical limit for PEs for growing companies. If you buy Ford or Walmart pay close attention to the PE.

They can theoretically, but practically nobody outside of China is trying as they don't have the engineering for capital. China is burning all their spare cash to try and catch up, only to get tariffed out of the 3 largest markets - US, Europe and India.
