  2. Viking - you are thinking at level 1 and Elon is thinking at level 3. Electric cars are getting cheaper so on a long enough timeline ICE is doomed. If the subsidy goes Tesla will still be profitable and all other US ev makers cannot keep up. In a nutshell, Tesla just checkmated the entire US car market with this move. Counterintuitive, I know.
