  1. It is not really a dual strategy. They are basically saying they will sell EVs but not a loss like in the past, which means their models will be over-priced and under-specced. They are hoping that somehow Tesla's technology will diffuse into the market and they can move much later to EVs at a lower price.

  2. There are only a fixed amount of people buying cars and Tesla's market share keeps growing. By deduction, that comes at the expense of ice cars. Most places outside of US and Europe don't yet have supercharger networks so it is home charging only.
