This is not correct. The only place gas trucks work out better is towing big loads over big distances (F250) or extreme situations where customers are 500 miles away with no place to supercharge. These are unusual circumstances.

40k is now 50k inflation adjusted.

Tesla chose not to compete with CATL/BYD because lithium prices dropped and batteries became commodities. Tesla sells cars, not batteries - so inhouse production is not a requirement to compete.

The smart move for any value orientated buyer. Attention orientated buyers should buy the CT.
4
That is why they launched it at 80k and not 40k (50k inflation adjusted). Prices will drop and so will manufacturing costs. Tesla does this everytime.

The Cybertruck has aspects that make it more practical as well - a body and engine/battery that last nearly forever, free fuel if you have solar at work or home, near zero maintenance besides tires, better electricity supply for tools. Not everything is perfect but neither is it with traditional trucks.
3
Easy to say. But when it comes to putting down money most prefer to go with the stable offering of Tesla rather than risk some prototype project that probably be cancelled, leaving parts supply in limbo. Only Tesla is making profits on EV in the US.

Incorrect. Coming soon to EU with minor modifications. 100x safer for pedestrians because software detects incoming pedestrian accidents way before driver does and warns you.
2
You are not incorrect but people who earn 3 figures or more prefer to just have their own car, regardless the cost. They are happy to pay $60000 to not worry about stranger's cooties.
2
They are talking 1 million mile warrantee. So basically forever.
2
Correct. 4680 is just a size. The reason the Cybertruck 4680 was a bit slow at times was they added a dry electrode, a major step forwards in technology, and that was not easy to product perfectly everytime.
2
They intentionally pulled back 4680 efforts because lithium prices dropped, meaning they could just buy in batteries cheaper from others. Tesla trying to be the best battery manufacturer and the best car manufacturer at the same time is a route to bankruptcy. The only accomplishment Elon needs to get paid was 10x the share price, and he did that, even considering recent drops.
2
They probably said 'practically infinite' but we have seen this year that Tesla have found the limits of demand for 3/Y and CT will find it too. That is not to say demand is not growing, it is, but clearly it is not infinite.
2
The defunded 4680 when lithium prices dropped and battery availability was no longer an issue. They are not idiots, they just don't explain their moves very well.
2
There is a flat version that is even more space efficient.
1
No. They will make 500M next year because they are ramping. Tesla understands ramping better than anyone.
1
Yes. Unless you want attention, then buy now.
1
Yes. But they will make 400M in the next year. Now do the maths for that.
1
They were, and then the lithium prices fell a huge amount, now they are not.

If you have enough money to live out your life diversification is the single best thing. If you have very little, bet on one thing, research it like mad, and hold on tight.
1
Cybertruck space for the battery is currently 50% empty but the drop in Lithium prices have made Sodium Ion an unlikely contender.
