  1. Virtually every country in the World tariffs cars not manufactured on local soil. Normally they will let foreign manufacturers build local plants. In this case China stuck its thumb in America's eye way too many times of late - supplying Russia's war effort being just the latest one. For now, it will be Tesla and some rats and mice selling EVs stateside.
