  1. The big deal is that Tesla share price is down 40% and much more from its high. Add the whole Twitter thing in and large amounts of people are out for blood and can see no good in anything Tesla does. They can't see that the business is good, the plans are good and it just takes some time to work miracles. Tesla shares could easily be 10x in 5 or so years.

  6. They dropped because NEW prices also dropped. Those had to drop because interest rates are UP. Interest rates are UP to pay for the pandemic QE. Teslas have better longevity than any other vehicle - engineered for 1 million miles without major repairs.

  9. No. Narrative is always just a temporary state of affairs. Interest rates will drop and sales will increase. New models will start to be seen in the results and Tesla will once again be the darling of the hoi-poloi.

  10. Elon has IQ of 170+ and thinks 10 steps ahead. 99% of people have IQ 90-110 and only understand results of the last quarter. Disconnect was inevitable. They will reconnect when Robotaxi is returning 10x current Tesla profits in couple years.

  15. This. Tesla needs to educate potential customers. 90% of non-owners think they cost 2x an ICE vehicle, catch on fire, need a new battery every 100k miles and that there is nowhere to charge them. It is not 2011 anymore.

  24. 2nd hand prices follow new prices. New prices came down because interest rates went up. Depreciation is an illusion if you keep the car - they are engineered for 1 million miles.

  27. Correct, hence the drop from 409 to 142. But global car sales are down 50% too. And interest rates are high so people are holding off. And Tsla has many sources of future profits not from selling more 3s and Ys. So time will pass, interest rates will drop, new projects will come online and the trend will reverse. Those who jump on and off based on quarterly results will lose out.
