No, the mother isn't "devastated". When a prey animal is killed/eaten, the herd it was in doesn't fall into a state of depression or stop eating and reproducing. They move on just fine. You people have been totally brainwashed by Disney and confusing the artificial world of pets with nature.

  13. The calf is dumb but even dumber are those huge dozen buffalos that ran away. What difference does it make that it's a baby buffalo? It's basic everyday predator prey interactions that have been happening for millions of years. I don't know why people keep projecting their emotions onto it.

Predator and prey interactions like this are perfectly fine in nature. It's how it has been from the start. It's a mundane, unimportant everyday event for hundreds of millions of years. That humans showed up very recently and started going "omg this hurts my feelings and goes against how pets and farm animals and Disney characters behave" is hardly a solid argument. A certain proportion of prey species get eaten every generation because their bodies are where certain predator species' food is located. It's fine and causes no problems for prey populations, the environment, the ecosystem, Earth, etc. Now if you want to see an animal that causes serious long-lasting widespread harm to animals and nature, that's us.

  40. You need to watch more buffalo videos to see just how inconsistent and stupid these herbivores are at defending their children. One of my favorites is more than a dozen huge cowardly buffalo running away from wild dogs leaving two calves behind to be eaten alive. Another is a buffalo coming to the "rescue" of a calf grabbed by the throat by a lion only to ram the calf and running off for the lions to grab it again.
