Collin yan, even having free insurance can cost you more than having no insurance. Partly this is because those with insurance end up going in more often to get their money's worth. Which will Almost never happen. And partly this is because when Hospitals and clinics see you have insurance, they will order a bunch of extra stuff to makes more money only to find out that the insurance company doesn't cover those codes anymore or won't cover something they usually do for some obscure reason. Insurance at any cost is a scam. It's time everyone just drop it and put what they were paying in premiums into a private emergency account instead.

Health insurance is scam where you pay third parties to leverage your money and pay them for the privilege. Drop your premium monies into a private emergency account instead. We will I'll have more money and paying a bit to help those less fortunate get Medical Care will be no problem. Partly because procedure and treatment prices will plummet down to normal levels as a result.

@AmperageY if you're not at least getting free checking, you're getting scammed. jesus.

jayvir jadeja relatives? like... the older ones? not saying people should have kids to rely on them... but do you see the flaw in your logic?

@marc-andreservant201 yeah, you've paid for it in taxes stolen from you. not better. and i've heard plenty of canadians complain. the quality of care will still MOSTLY depend on amount of money you make, ie, status. and the weakest, most sniveling incompetents make the most money. socialism is a parasite on the free market. gotta understand economics to get it.

@Haadhi Faizal "there are a lot of problems [with canadian health care]". right. stop settling. and yeah, no shit our stolen money is used for wholesale murder, especially OF US. ddduuuhhh. haha. you "don't understand the tax argument" because of something that happens in the usa? non sequitur, hon. yeah, "private" health insurance in the usa IS NOT PRIVATE at all; it is very socialized and sends procedure costs through the roof. a scam similar to yours. nothing is for free. and don't worry, no one mistakes canadian health care for perfect. lol. the more socialized a thing becomes, the more garbage it is. i personally provide 99% of my own health care. give birth at home for like $20, no "professional" needed. "healthcare" is for emergencies, not "check ups" or "run to the white coat every time you have a cough". have some fing grit. lol.

cut the costs: 1. have baby at home. can pay 3k for a midwife, who will probably be in the pocket of the medical industry. or do what i did and have them without a "professional". was THE right choice, wouldn't have it any other way. the sense of pride is bomb af as well. ofc it sucks to get through it.. but *you can do it*. if you have an emergency, that's what 911 is for and that is WAY CHEAPER. you can also file for medicaid AFTER you get the care and it will work retroactively. they will not count the mother's income, as she is now on maternity leave. life hack. 2. don't bother sending kids to college. or even school if you can swing it. the happiest and smartest kids i knew growing up were homeschooled. like, together in little groups. they retained their joie de vivre. classroom learning is outdated and i went into engineering without a degree because i taught myself comp sci. the individual carves a more customized and engaging learning path than any set of nazi/bully teacher assholes under a bloated ass administration can do. ta da! most costs gone.

i just pulled all my money and keep it in an offsite safe. insured. way better. :)

NOPE. they're the same now. overdraft maybe slightly less with credit union, but that gap is CLOSING.

@bishop51807 nice try troll. on the free market... which none of us have ever lived... the price of procedures would be a fraction of what it is now. look into why folks go to singapore for surgery. also, you could get anything you need on the market. lidocaine, suturing supplies, whatever, easily and for cheap. before the rockefellers imprisoned a bunch of natural healers and dumped big $$ into "med" schools a hundred years ago, most people knew how to do basic med stuff for themselves and their families. now we are sniveling babies crying for someone to give us antibiotics for "VIRUSES" as we worship white coated drug dealers. lmfao. it's pathetic. study the history.

@24califrank no matter what your uninformed opinion on what happened with his overdraft is... that is too much to charge for $.07. "oh but the charge is by the transaction no matter the amount durrrrr" yeah no shit, idiots...THAT'S THE COMPLAINT. lmao.
