  2. Well no, the real reason why is because the learn drive is suppressed by studying and classroom formats. The learn drive is encouraged by following one's nose. So the study thing is a red herring. We don't need to know how to study.. We just need to know how to follow our noses and dig and dig to our hearts content. Gifted kids tend to know this, at least subconsciously, and we know better than to sit in a classroom and become brain dead. Universities are cults. They are really anachronisms. They're going the way of the dodo. And it's about time.

Especially once you spent your entire School career being lied to about the importance of the university degree. Instead of preaching bootstrapping, what we need to do is remove the rulership. Let's get straight to the point. Starve out the world monarchy and the papal bloodlinesby going self employed wherever possible. This will put more and more people in the position to do so as well.

  7. You're not learning how to learn, you're learning how to study. There's a difference. Studying is not the optimal way to learn. That's why we don't do it much naturally. Being gifted is not a disadvantage. And it won't be no matter how hard the insecure people cope.

So the intelligence kids learn early that it's all nonsense, and unless they are from families wealthy enough to have connections that will make all this education worth it? They're like I'm out of here. I'm going to go learn what I want. I'm going to hang out with people I like, I'm going to paint portraits in my room, I'm going to read up on every single little thing that interests me, I'm going to watch a bunch of documentaries on YouTube. Then I'm going to synthesize all that stuff into my artwork THAT is what a brilliant mind does. It brilliant mind does not work toward silly little University Freemason degrees and various signed pieces of paper. Nothing could matter less than those things.

  15.  @Zeetrik  i JUST said that the grade system should not exist as it is. everyone should work at her own pace and move through the disciplines at the rate she is actually learning them. then we would end up with friend groups that have most in common with us instead of having only those who live in the same area and are the same age to choose from. gifted children really end up getting bullied and misunderstood by the very people they feel attached and close to at school. often takes decades to realize how pathetic the envious "friends" really were. a sense of "belonging" under such duress (of the alternative of being all alone) can be easily mistaken emotional well being.

  23. Grumpy face gets less holiday work isn't exactly true. Nor is the assertion that it's evolution to be not a team player. What it's really about is nepotism. Who do you know? Who do you have dirt on? Who can you manipulate? Some of us don't want to be lazy, and find non productivity so unpleasurable and boring that we just want to work and do the job well for our own selfish satisfaction. For the sake of getting better at something and moving on from the crap job in most cases. Ultimately, the answer and goal is to work for oneself. Once you do that, no other position that works for others outranks you. You are at the top of the totem pole and it takes work. Government intervention has removed Avenues and put up barriers to entry to self-employment. It's not an accident. The real problem that creates is a lack of choices when it comes to walking away from the crap job. Instead of having 100 other companies to work from, you maybe have three, and they all do things the same way anyway. It's a trap. GET OFF THE W2. Your 401k is a scam. Your insurance is a scam. Sit down and crunch the numbers. Or better yet, read the work of others who already have. The number is simply don't work out in your favor. You are better off putting all of that money in your own private account. Or better yet, spending it on assets, especially the ones you need to grow your own business.

  24. See, the learning to ask for help thing is largely due to the adults around you and how healthy and stable they are. It has nothing to do with gifted kids doing it worse. Non-gifted kids do it terribly as well. That's because the adults around us are/were freaking insane. Gifted kids are very curious and are constantly asking about this that or the other thing. So it's not about our natural abilities being lesser. They are greater. This video is just another cope for insecure people with average to low intelligence. High IQ is not a disadvantage.   26. Alpers, that doesn't make logical sense. It's not better to be bad at something just because then you know need to improve. Someone who is naturally good at something still knows she is not the best and she has to work at it if she wants to get really exceptional. But she has a leg up. In no ways it advantageous to be bad at something. If you're naturally bad at something, go find something you're naturally good at. Like, prioritize intelligently.

I spend my spare time reading novels and painting and hanging out with people I like. Not doing homework for your class. See, the moment a child shows she has mastered something her mentors and teachers should move her on to the next thing. So that she is always having to study in some way, instead of just sitting and rotting away in a class full of average or less than average children , waiting for them to catch up. Furthermore, if you don't need to study to do well, then you don't need to study to do well. And you will still do well. Therefore there is no problem.
