  4. How can you know why russians flee exactly? Also, how would you separate actual political immigrants from economical ones? And even economical immigrants hurt putin's ecomony, btw. "Sanctions are meant to have russian citizen feel the impact" eh, no? They are meant to hurt putin's war machine so he can't continue the war. "Revenge on russian citizens" mentality wouldn't work and it's destructive. Imagine if someone was fighting putin from 2012 (Bolotnaya protests) and now the whole world wants to hurt him and wouldn't let him leave Russia & escape putin's machine of repressions, that's kind of insane, right?

  19. Germany after WW2 somehow did pretty good (relatively), considering they killed millions. I assume the US will do the same with Russia as it did with western Germany and will help grow it's economy back up, so that Russia would help with China later. Of course, after Putin & all his bootlickers go to jail.

Russia actually was a democracy for a short period of time in the 90's, and before that it was pretty close to democracy from year 1136 to 1478 (Novgorod Republic), when Europe was nowhere near a democracy. Russian youth right now (30 y.o. and younger) are in majority anti-putin and pro-democratic and even pro-west if you will, look up Alexei Navalny and his movement for example. Also, there's a reason why putin's trying to pretend he's a democratic leader - people actually don't want another monarchy/dictatorship.

Putin's propaganda/repressions machine is full of money, they have LOTS of money, wich came... From the EU. Btw, in the 90's people actually "acted on it" and collapsed the USSR.

Courts, FSB, police, army, oligarchs - everything works in balance just because 1 man is in power for more than 20 years. Btw, you say russians do "absolutely nothing" about it - it's a lie. And throughout history they always did something - they ended monarchy, they ended communism, now it's time to end autocracy.

  28. The reason why there's no protests currently (apart from huge repressions) is the fact that the lifestyle hasn't changed much. Prices are up but not dramatically, you can still buy most stuff & pay with your card etc.

They can't make RuTube & VK Video work as good as Youtube so 99% of Russians prefer Youtube, if they ban it, it would result in millions of Russians downloading VPN services & getting access not only to their favourite fashion & food blogs on YouTube, but also to all western media. Our government doesn't want that to happen. So i doubt they will ban YouTube unless the regime is about to fall.

Here i can say that putin and a large percent of russian officials & army are war criminals and should face tribunal without getting myself in trouble. I can also say that the Russian Federation in it's current form is a terrorist state without getting in trouble. I write this everywhere for around 4 months (since Bucha happened) and i'm still fine. If they would ask me on the street - it's a different story, i would be careful of course. I should save myself until the day X happens, then i will help our democratic opposition (Navalny, Khodorkovsky, Kasparov etc.) to take power.
