  3.  @Kav.  Nobody's saying that Ukraine/Ukrainians shouldn't do it - as a russian i'm convinced they can do anything they want to win. Just seeing that coming from westerners who support Ukraine is pretty weird to me.

  4.  @Kav.  Yeah - you're in your 20's - and you've only seen putin's Russia. All that stuff didn't happen during Yeltsin's time (like, at all, completely nothing, zero). I don't see russian soldiers as my fathers/sons/relatives, i see them only as the worst kind of my compatriots. I felt pity for them during the first 2 weeks when they were thrown into Ukraine without any explanation - after that i slowly started hating them (and rightfully so). Again, i can see why some act like this, but still, dehumanisation as a concept in social media when you aren't directly at war (like Ukraine) is a direct first step to fascism & becoming putin's Russia #2. I understand why it happens, i just don't think it's a great thing.

  5.  @Gambol_25  It was also bad back then. But again, as i stated in my comment, there was no other option/there is no other option for ukrainians currently - it is a wartime propaganda. It doesn't make it a good & right practice though.

  12. "you and all russians are dictators and communists bc putin is" is far more common western take than you might think. Believe me i'm anti-putin/anti-invasion russian living in Russia. Just go on reddit for example, their takes on russians in general are absolutely insane. Considering what Roman's doing here - he said multiple times that he's talking about american (far) right movements & conservatives and he even said that it's not all of them.

  14. Well, i agree with you on emotional level, but watching real people dying with funny music & actually enjoying it and laughing is indeed a very dangerous road. All russian soldiers are bad (at this point) - i agree. Are ABSOLUTELY ALL of them thieves & war criminals? Definitely not. Do all of them deserve punishment? Yes. Is it funny watching people dying?.. Why should it be funny?

It is, but if you're living in major cities like Moscow or St. Petersburg you can bribe your way out/find something about your health that allows you to avoid draft, so again, most conscripts are from small towns/villages in distant regions or national republics. BUT russian army in Ukraine doesn't have a lot of conscripts. 99% of it is contract army, most conscripts are still in Russia.

  16. Thing is, there are not many conscripts in Ukraine. Maybe there will be more later, but it's a pretty small %. Definitely less than 1/10. Most of them are still inside Russia.

  18. From a russian POV (my pov) actively simping for Ukraine may be beneficial if you're in the EU/US/EN since democratic governments there NEED public pressure in order to continue providing weapons to Ukraine. And letting Russia win here is a direct path into more wars later.

  19. Because not being half-ukrainian is pretty uncommon in ru. Also, there's a lot of examples of half-jewish reasonable russians, look at Max Katz or Garry Kasparov. Mikhail Khodorkovsky is pure russian i'm pretty sure, more than half of Navalny's team are pure russians. Also, if you have relatives in Ukraine it's easier & faster to break through putin's propaganda & lies, obviously.

Being in opposition to putin doesn't equal not using racial slurs, especially considering that Navalny is half-ukraininan and Roman also has a ukrainian ancestry from Odesa. If you've watched Roman for at least last 4-5 years you would know he's been anti-putin. So no, it is not a lie on his part. In short - if you're ukrainian - yeah, i can understand your points and i respect that. If you aren't ukrainian i don't really understand why you're so salty here.

  30. Judging by the channels you're subbed to you're ukrainian, and dehumanizing is a big part of ukrainian war propaganda, it's relatively OK in that particular case. There's no other option sadly. But when westerners start doing it - it's unnecessary and can backfire.

Dehumanizing as a concept is still bad though, if there's an option you better off treating them as an evil enemy who deserves death, but not as not-humans - it will be better for YOUR OWN mental health & your own future, and if you're on the battlefield - your own safety. I know a guy from Kharkiv (he's fighting rn) who's fully in support of this mentality - i'm basically speaking his words.
